It’s time for our first of TWO weekly columns breaking down your best bets across the National Hockey League and maybe finding love along the way*.

Florida Panthers vs. New York Rangers
Tuesday, February 01, 2022 – 07:00 PM EST at Madison Square Garden
We’re gonna start off tonight with two of the best teams in hockey, as the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Florida Panthers travel to the World’s Most Famous Arena to take on the New York Rangers.
Both teams are set on a collision course with the playoffs, as the Panthers look to head back to their first Stanley Cup final in over 25 years and the Rangers redeeming themselves after some less than stellar seasons since their last failed cup run in 2014, which is what helped spur my love of whiskeys from the Kentucky and Tennessee areas.
For the Panthers, they’re on a four-game winning streak winning by no less than two goals per game since a 4-3 loss to the … *reads notes* THE SEATTLE KRAKEN? What the hell?
The Rangers on the other hand just defeated the Kraken to end a two-game skid to the Wild and the Blue Jackets.
Hard to bet against the Panthers here, as they’re leading the President’s Trophy race with 69 points (nice) and got the win in their first matchup 4-3.
But the Rangers can play a close game and at +139 according to Heritage Sports (visit our Heritage Sports Review), could be a nice underdog pick.
I’d suggest picking the Panthers at -154 and parlaying it with the over 6 goals (+100) for your first pick of the night.
Always check the live odds though, Rangers are live dogs for a reason in this game and if they can make the first period an interesting one, look at a potential live hedge.

Washington Capitals vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Our second game features one of the best current rivalries in hockey as the Pittsburgh Penguins play host to the Washington Capitals in the Steel City for their third showdown of the regular season.
Both teams have split the first two games, with the Pens taking the second game back in December.
After a six-game winning streak turned into a three-game skid (all games in the losing streak decided by one goal), the Penguins have to pick up the pieces against a Capitals team that are 3-3 in their last six.
Looking at this game gives me the feel of a toss-up, especially when these two teams are on the ice against each other, the intensity goes up to 11.
A good play here is to take the Caps +150 per BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review) and the over 5.5 set at -125 as a safety valve, as both teams have been putting a ton of goals on the board as of late and both teams on shaky ground in terms of consistent winning the last few games.
