A small loss last week, but overall, our player props are in profit at BMR as we head into NFL Week 4.
Defenses are starting to get banged up, which is usually the way by NFL week 4, and the total points are slowly rising.
Last week’s results saw one familiar winner for readers as Jalen Hurts once again landed a touchdown, taking our running total on player props to 5-4 despite losing 1-2 on the week.
The biggest talking points last week were the Green Bay Packers’ shock loss to the Cleveland Browns and the Kansas City Chiefs finally landing their first win in week 3 and landing the public money against the sharps.
Without further ado, we go straight into the same winning as the opening three weeks to lead off our NFL Week 4 card.
Jalen Hurts – Anytime Touchdown (-140) at BetOnline
Eagles vs. Buccaneers – Sunday, September 28, 1:00 PM EDT
We are going to the well, once more, with the dynamic quarterback Jalen Hurts and his proclivity for rushing touchdowns.
It was interesting how the Eagles played through the air more last week when trailing in the later period of the match against a good LA Rams team, which shows a versatility to the Eagles team that was previously unseen, but by then Hurts had already gone in for our profits.
That game through the air is a huge plus long-term and will keep opponents guessing, and this weekend’s rivals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are no pushovers, and like the Eagles, are 3-0, so something will have to give this week in Tampa.
Usually in Bucs games, points are easy to score at both ends, so backing Jalen Hurts for a touchdown is once again a solid option to keep that ridiculously high strike rate of scoring a TD in over 90% of NFL matches during the last two campaigns.
Juwan Johnson – Over 41.5 Receiving Yards (-110) at Bovada
Saints vs. Bills – Sunday, September 28, 1:00 PM EDT
Last week, we went with Juwan Johnson to score a touchdown for the Saints against the Seahawks, and despite failing to land the bet, the twenty-nine-year-old tight end was integral to the New Orleans Saints moving the football. Indeed, in what was a losing, almost hopeless cause, he managed six receptions from eight targets for 51 yards.
The Saints’ schedule gets no easier this week with a road trip to the Buffalo Bills and the prospect of another drubbing, so Johnson’s worth as an out for Spencer Rattler is more valuable than ever, and as a reliable one that they currently have.
Last week, we opted for a more speculative touchdown scorer in Johnson at +350, and he remains undervalued and still worth a small investment, alongside the safer option of over the receiving yards with Bovada.
Jeremy McNichols – Over 8.5 Rushing Yards (-110) at BetOnline
Commanders vs. Falcons – Sunday, September 28, 1:00 PM EDT
One of the highlights of last week’s NFL was the 60-yard touchdown run from the Washington Commanders running back, and his rush yards last week were set as low as 15.5 at some sportsbooks. This week, he opened lower at 8.5.
The price for a touchdown was as high as (+500) in places, too, and at twenty-nine years old, Jeremy McNichols is an ultra-reliable veteran. The last two campaigns have seen McNichols become an important cog in the Commanders’ growing wheel, and once again this week against the Atlanta Falcons, it is not hard to envisage him getting involved.
Indeed, last week was a shocker for the Atlanta Falcons, who failed to trouble the scorers, losing 0-30 to the Carolina Panthers, whose ground game was way too much for the Falcons.
The only question left to answer is whether we go the higher variance route of a touchdown or the low rushing yards, and it is the latter that makes the biggest appeal for Jeremy McNichols.
