The Brooklyn Nets will have Kyrie Irving return to action for his first game since February 12. Can Irving lead the Nets to at least cover the spread against the former champions in the Milwaukee Bucks? Let’s see what the NBA odds for this matchup tell us!

The Brooklyn Nets are going to be a terrific team down the stretch. But that’s not until the team is fully healthy and the vaccine mandate for indoors is lifted. Kyrie Irving will get a chance to play for the Nets for the first time since the All-Star break.

Irving is currently the only star of the three-headed monster playing for the Nets right now. Currently, Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons, and Joe Harris are all out and unable to play right now. If those three come back and Irving is allowed to play home games, things are going to move smoothly for the Nets in the future.
But right now, the Nets aren’t good enough. The Nets just lost two home games to Washington and Boston in between an All-Star break. However, those two games were at home. Irving hasn’t played a single game for the Nets since February 12, however, in that game, the Nets almost took down the East’s best in the Miami Heat, losing 115-111.

So really, the Nets have potential when Irving is on the floor. The Nets have been an average offense this year, despite using Patty Mills more than Suns are using Devin Booker. The Bucks have held opponents to a 24.8 percent offensive rebounding rate and rarely allow teams to get to the line.
Opponents are scoring an average of 109.9 points per 100 possessions, which, if the Nets can do, they’d be in good shape against Milwaukee. Right now, the defensive side of the ball is a wreck. The Net sare allowing 112.9 points per 100 possessions while rarely forcing turnovers at 13 percent.
The Bucks know how to score at will and continue to get quality looks this season with a 54.4 percent effective field goal percentage. In tonight’s ABC game, the Nets are major underdogs. In games where Kyrie Irving has been available, the Nets have been losing.
The last time the Nets won a game with Irving on the floor was back on January 21. However, the Nets just need to cover and Irving’s last two games were extremely close against the Heat and Wizards.
The Bucks are clearly a parlay piece, but if you’re looking to count on the Bucks against the spread, be a bit careful. Irving brings the Nets versatility. He can score at will and now has major pieces alongside himself with Seth Curry and Andre Drummond.
With Irving handling a lot of responsibilities, Patty Mills can be himself and now Goran Dragic should be able to get some minutes for the Nets. For my NBA picks, I’ll ride the Nets against the spread in this one.
Dragic likely won’t make a huge impact in this game, but Irving will and that should help keep Patty Mills fresh, which will be crucial.
