NASCAR Extravaganza – Round 1 Results (Archive)

Originally published on February 28, 2022

The first round of our NASCAR contest was an astonishing success. It was an exciting race that was finally decided in the final rounds, especially after an accident that occurred with 22 rounds left to go.

The race track found winners in the fastest drivers, like Erik Jones, one of the leaders in Saturday’s event. This is NASCAR’s second race of the year.

The Wise Power 400 took place at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. A total of 36 drivers were on the entry list posted for this event and they had to complete a total of 200 laps, which had spectators on the edge of their seats.

This season is the first for NASCAR’s new Next Gen car. This car replaces the Gen 6, which was used from 2013 to 2021. The Next Gen platform, which has been developed over the past several years, gives NASCAR’s three automakers a car that is more faithful and relevant to their street equivalents, while also giving NASCAR a machine that can both enhance the level of on-track competition and allow for more cutting-edge and relevant technology.

The next race on the calendar will take place on Sunday, March 6, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway so be sure to put your picks prior to the start of the race!

Forum Shoutouts

BMR’s contestants truly enjoyed the first round and followed the race via our forum thread. Tanko, one of our most actives in Bettors Chitchat, found out that one of his drivers crashed against a wall with 22 laps to go, after being in contention for much of the race.

Unfortunately for Tanko, he had to help his kids with their taxes and couldn’t witness the event so user Mike Smith had to break the news. Those pesky kids…

As for Enikk (whom everyone is thanking for coming up with the contest idea), he made a decision to “take out the trash early” and went with a couple of longshots, but the strategy didn’t pay off, outside of Daniel Suarez who came in at #4.

Congrats to all the winners and remember you can still participate and win prizes at the end of the contest as well as individual prizes for each race!
