Here we go! It’s the final week of La Liga’s action before the international breaks. We went 1-2 last week as our cards bet won but Betis couldn’t find the back of the net and we didn’t see a red card in a feisty Levante and Granada game.
This week we are bringing you action from Espanyol and Granada, the Madrid derby takes place (not the big one) -the smaller one between Real and Vallecano. Finally, we are looking at our only plus money bet this weekend in Villarreal and Getafe, so let’s get into some La Liga odds.
RCD Espanyol vs. Granada CF

Espanyol has looked like a completely different team to the one that was relegated to the Segunda division in 2019/20. They are currently sitting in 14th place, five points ahead of the relegation zone. Important for us here we love the spot and the odds on Espanyol picking up the home win at -110. Espanyol has lost on home soil only once, all season long, and that was to Atletico Madrid.
Yes, Granada is 9th in the table away from home but this is a misinterpretation as a lot of La Liga teams struggle away from home and just seven points separate 20th and 6th place when it comes to away results. Granada also picked up a 3-0 dominant win over Levante away from home last time out, whilst Espanyol lost 3-1 away from home to bottom position Getafe.
This is the perfect bounce-back spot for the Catalan team and we are happy with their set of odds to pick up the win in this La Liga clash.

Real Madrid vs. Rayo Vallecano

Although Real Madrid is not full of superstars anymore, they have still been a formidable team under Carlo Ancelotti’s second reign as manager. Madrid is only one point behind unlikely league winners, Real Sociedad.
This is a derby match as Rayo is based in Madrid, although not the fiercest of rivalries. Four of the previous five meetings have produced over 5.5 cards and the referee in charge of this game P. Fuertes has seen an average of 6.67 yellow cards handed out in six games in charge this season, as well as one red card.
On top of all this, an unlikely Vallecano win would miraculously see them just one point behind Madrid and if other results were to go their way, they could be sitting in 4th position and just two or three-point off top spot. For us, this is a game that will see, probably, at least five cards, and seeing the line at 4.5 seems like stealing candy from a baby.

Villarreal vs. Getafe

Our final game this week sees us looking at 14th place Villarreal and 20th place Getafe. Since their coach left, Getafe has become absolute abysmal and they have only managed to pick up a total of two points away from home all season long, having scored just two goals and conceding nine, a goal difference of -7.
Villarreal is having a similar sort of issues as many teams across Europe who are fighting both in European competitions and domestically. Right now they are in a respectable 2nd place and level on points with Man Utd in the Champions League, yet they reside down in 13th position in La Liga and are eight points behind 6th place, although they do have a game in hand, it has been a struggle for Villarreal this season.
No matter how much the home side has struggled, they will be very confident heading into this fixture having beat Young Boys 2-0 on home soil during the week and will have this game circled as a must-win against the bottom of the table and the worst team away from home.
