Tonight’s NHL match takes us to the Central Division where the 5th place Dallas Stars play host to the 6th place Winnipeg Jets.
Recent games between these teams have seen the home side prevail as 9 of the last 10 meetings have seen the winner playing on home ice.
Friday, February 11, 2022 – 08:30 PM EST at American Airlines Center
The Jets come into Dallas tonight with no less than nine players unavailable for them tonight, add that to the fact they have only won one of their previous five road games. They could be in for a tough game tonight.
Last time out the Jets took down the Minnesota Wild by a scoreline of 2-0, a third shutout this season by goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was enough to come away with the win in that low scoring affair.
The Jets come into this game having averaged just 2.8 goals per game, ranking them 25th overall in the league. The Jets rank 15th in goals against this season. They're a pretty bog-standard team and unlikely to see the playoffs this year.
Dallas have been on somewhat of a roll as of late with some strong form to kick off the second half of the NHL campaign. The Stars won six of their previous eight games and it’s not good news for the Jets knowing that they are trending upwards.
Dallas ranks 5th overall in the powerplay whilst their opponents today are ranked as having the 28th best penalty kill, or should we say the 4th worst penalty kill.
Jake Oettinger is the supposed starting goaltender for the Stars tonight and he holds an overall record of 12 wins 5 losses with 2.56 goals-against average and .910 save %.

Dallas has the third-best record on home ice in the Western Conference and as we stated at the start of this article, the home side when these teams have previously met tends to come away with the win. The question remains are the Stars worth betting at -155 or is their value to be found elsewhere.

Winnipeg Jets
Dallas Stars
Moneyline: Winnipeg comes into tonight’s game having been made road dogs at +135, they have a 5-12-5 record when dogs on the road. The home team are NHL moneyline odds at -155.
Total: Tonight’s total has been set at 5.5 with the under coming in at -125 and the over as high as +112 with BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)
Puck Line: Winnipeg to cover the +1.5 PK line is currently -180, whilst the Stars to win by two or more on the -1.5 PK line is currently +160 with the best online sportsbooks.
We searched high and low for some value here and maybe Dallas to win on the moneyline at -155 is the “safer” play, but we don’t like the value what so ever and the -1.5 PK line is very dodgy to play with Dallas as they have recently won just 3 of their previous 7 by two or more goals on home ice.
We feel this is the perfect opportunity to pound the Dallas Stars to take the win in regulation tonight at odds of -110. It’s an angle we don’t usually approach in the NHL, and you really must try to pick your spots when playing this market.
We see some value in this market tonight and we are also backed up by the fact that Dallas have won 13 of their 16 home wins in regulation.
The total line at 5.5 seems bang on and this could be a 3-2 type of scoreline, we would side with the over just because it's slightly better value but it’s a pass on the total for us.
