The Italians began their campaign with a 3-0 onslaught against a well fancied Turkish team, it marked the first time Italy ever scored 3+ goals at the European Championships. Next up was the Swizz, who also received a 3-0 beating at the hands on the Italians. With their advancement from the group guaranteed, Italy’s put out a weakened team against Wales for their last group game and came away with all three points as they won the game 1-0.
Italy have been made work hard for their place in the finals as they were forced into extra time against Austria, eventually winning in Extra Time. Next up they faced joint pre-tournament favorites, Belgium. They came out as 2-1 winners on the night and their defending in the final twenty minutes of play was exceptional.
The Italians fell into the Spanish traps in the Semi Final and although they were resilient in defence, the Italians were very poor all around and it was most definitely an “off day” for them, but that’s how good this Italians team is, they had an “off day” in the semi-finals and still managed to make it into the final with a victory on penalty shootouts.
Now the Italians can hope to make it their first Euro Championship victory since 1968, they won’t let the intimidation from the home fans affect them, if anything it would spur this side on, they relish the underdog title.
England had the luck of playing all their group games in Wembley and breezed into the round of 16 as they picked up 3 points against Croatia in a 1-0 victory on matchday one and seen the better of the Czech Republic 1-0 on matchday three, whilst an old foe in the form of Scotland seen out a 0-0 draw on matchday two. England might have kept three clean sheets and only scored two goals, but they were in control of all of those matches from the first to last minute, if they really wanted to, they could have knocked some more goals in but that’s not their style under coach Gareth Southgate.
The English then went on to face an old enemy in the last 16 as they were drawn against the Germans. That was a very tight game and although England came out as 2-0 winners, the scoreline flatters them based on the way the match played out. They then travel to Rome to play their one and only match of this tournament outside of Wembley Stadium. In Rome they took on Andriy Shevchenko’s Ukrainian team, it was an easy win for the English as they came out 4-0 winners, and it could have been more.
Denmark were their opponents in the semi-final, with many neutrals cheering on the Dans thanks to their heroics surrounding the Cristian Erickson incident. Ultimately it wasn’t enough as more than 50,000 English fans filled Wembley. England ran out 1-0 winners thanks to very dubious extra time penalty awarded to England in which Kasper Schmeichel originally saved, only for Harry Kane to score the rebound.
A lot of folks will look at this matchup and think it’s an unders game, and maybe it is, but the value for us at +100 when taking the over 2.0 Asian line goals market is huge. If we take this bet and land on 2 goals exactly, we will get a push, and we believe we will most definitely see two goals in this game. Italy will we very hard to break down and so will England, but there will be opportunities and these teams have players have been on fire during these championships in front of the net. With the likes of Lorenzo Insigne, Harry Kane, Ciro Immobile, Raheem Sterling and many more on the pitch, it won’t take many half decent chances for these guys to find the back of the net.
Euro 2020 Pick: Asian Line Over 2.0 Goals at +100 with The Best Online Sportsbooks
If you want the honest truth, we think this game has a 1-1 scoreline written all over it, hence the reason we love the Asian line over 2.0, at the very least it’s a push and if it goes over 2.5 goals well at least we cashed that part of the bet.
We love the draw at +200 because essentially if we think it ends 1-1 then we think it’s a draw, but for a better approach than just betting the draw as a single at +200, we believe it’s much better to take a 1-1 correct score at +650 and a 0-0 correct score at +750, its almost crazy to think it would be any other draw scoreline and with big odds like this we can still come out with profit by betting on both outcomes if one cashes.
