Tampa Bay’s first line showed up in Game 2 with a Bang as Kucherov, Palat and Point combined for a total of five points in a 4-2 win for the Lightning. From defense to offense the Lighting had more urgency and were the much better team during the 60 minutes of play. Tampa Bay are hoping they can stay hot on the road in the playoffs as they boast a 5-1 record coming into tonight’s matchup. Andrei Vasilevskiy has been in red hot form all season. Including the post season, he has started every playoff game for the lighting.
Don’t be fooled by the Islanders, they seem to be an afterthought to everyone despite the fact they knocked out the Penguins and Bruins, which is no easy feat. They have been racking up the upsets all playoffs long, so write them off at your peril. Barry Trotz is one of the best coaches in the game and we are very confident this team wouldn’t be where they are at this stage of the season without him. Semyon Varlamov has really come into his own this post season and was one of the key reasons they knocked out the Bruins.
