It’s been a rocky road for the visiting Hurricanes lately as they have lost both their previous two NHL games by a scoreline of 4-3. Meanwhile, Boston suffered a tough defeat to the Penguins at home last time out and come into this game without their top points scorer Brad Marchand.

The Hurricanes were heavy favorites last time out on the road to the Senators and somehow managed to find themselves down 4-0 heading into the 3rd period. It hasn’t exactly been going according to plan for the best defense in the league as they have now conceded 8 goals in just their two games post the All-Star break.
We expect Frederik Andersen to start in the crease tonight for the Canes as he didn’t start prior to the game between Ottawa and he suffered the loss in the 4-3 defeat to his former team Toronto. Overall this season, Andersen has a .927 save percentage and allowed just 2.07 GAA. As an overall goaltender, he ranks inside the top three thus far this season.
It’s rare Andersen losses two games in a row, but Boston is no gimme, still, at the same time, Carolina betters will be re-assured with Andersen being named the starting goaltender.
The Canes have only lost three games in a row once all season.
Brad Marchand let his temper get the better of him after punching Penguins' goaltender and taunting him. He now faces a six-game suspension for his team, he generates much of their offense and is their top points scorer this season.
It was a tough loss to take for the Bruins last time out against the Penguins after going up 2 goals to zero, they eventually blew that lead and lost the game by a scoreline of 4-2. Boston currently sits comfortably in 4th place in the Atlantic division.
With Tuukka Rask having announced his retirement this week, the responsibility will fall on the shoulders of Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman. Ullmark will most likely start in the crease tonight having not played in the last game.
