If you asked me a year ago if I’d bet against a Pitbull Brother, I’d say no and then immediately walk away because either you are a loon or the Pitbull Brothers overheard you doubting them and are coming to take a pint of blood, a pound of flesh and a piece of your soul.
But, since July 2021 when A.J. McKee made Patricio Pitbull tap, the game may have changed in Bellator MMA. And while that was the only time in a nearly 18-year career where he was submitted… SOMEONE SUBMITTED A PITBULL!
So let’s break down the Bellator odds for this great rematch!
Bellator Featherweight Championship Main Event Bout
Friday, April 15, 2022 – 11:00 PM EDT at SAP Center
If McKee defeated any other fighter on the Bellator roster, we’d not be surprised, as he walked in undefeated and had two straight submission victories.
But the respect and fear that comes from Patricio and Patricky Pitbull (it feels like they’re in the same category as Fedor Emelianenko), as fighters who may never have left for the spotlight of the UF, but are undeniable names for the record and quality of opponents they’ve beaten.

And it comes down to whether this is the ascension of McKee as the elite featherweight in the Paramount owned organization or the decline of one of the most elite fighters in the company (let alone the sport) is still unknown, but this rematch is a deciding factor.
With Pitbull relinquishing the lightweight title following his loss of the featherweight one, this move back to 145 pounds may be the galvanizing factor in what road both men will be walking down for the remainder of their careers.
Also, McKee had a longer layoff between their fights than Pitbull, who had to fight Emmanuel Sanchez three months before the finals with McKee.

McKee leveled up in competition through each round of the Grand Prix leading to his first-round victory over Pitbull, but we go back to whether circumstances, more than the opponent, decided our outcome. And with Pitbull at a +235 underdog, a very giving line after processing all the information we just gave out.
This leads us to suggest, for your best bets, that you take Patricio Pitbull in this fight at that +235 via BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review). With all of the outliers from their last fight out of the way (distance between fights being the same, Pitbull remaining at one fighting weight, the world opening up more again) this feels like a lot of the momentum McKee built on, from the last fight, may be kaput.

But no bisques, I swear to (Editor’s note: Matt went on a 300-word diatribe about his hatred of bisques, that while informative was quite possibly one of the most inflammatory things we’ve ever read and decided to save it for a rainy day.)
