Inter Milan play host to a struggling and unhinged Sassuolo team in this weekend’s European Banker of The Week. Inter Milan themselves come into this game on the back of a defeat following their 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
Inter do boast the best home record in the league, picking up 29 points from a possible 36, compared to Sassuolo’s 16 from 36 on the road. We should be in for an exciting matchup, let’s go check out our soccer picks.

Inter Milan’s recent form has taken a dip, albeit in most of the matches they were facing against formidable opponents, but unfortunately, these are the games Inter wants and need to be winning. A 1-1 draw at home against Napoli wasn’t the worst result but losing 1-0 to AC Milan and then suffering a 2-0 loss to Liverpool (both on home soil) wasn’t ideal.
Inter have only been averaging 9 shots per game across their previous four outings, it’s hard to pinpoint what’s been going wrong for them, but one thing that does seem a little obvious is they seem to be playing in a more defensive fashion, almost too conservative. Sassuolo is a team in which you cannot be conservative, there will be gaps and space to find all over the pitch.
Inter Milan and coach Simone Inzaghi will be very pleased to see a team such as Sassuolo heading into the Giuseppe Meazza, at this current moment in time Sassuolo has a lot of problems both internally and externally, Milan will hope to take advantage of that.
Sassuolo is playing a lot more like individuals this season and that trend has seemed to become very apparent over the previous 10 games as they have only come away with two wins from those ten matches, and just four in the previous 15 games.
Their uncanny ability to draw games has been their saving grace thus far this season and they are only 9 points clear of the drop zone. They're strong enough that they won’t go down, but if we imagine a scenario where just 2 of those draws ended up as losses, Sassuolo would be only 5 points clear.
The team is disjointed since the departure of some of their key players and coach in the offseason, they haven’t enjoyed the same success as they have in previous years and on the field, the players all seem to love attacking but rarely trackback, often going for glory than thinking about the team as a whole.
The one thing going for Sassuolo in this fixture could be their ability to win as big underdogs on the road, they have done so twice this season against Juventus at +600 and against AC Milan at +550, even beating Milan by two goals.
Inter Milan will be absolutely determined to win this game, they have let their lead at the top of the table slip and they cannot afford to slip up anymore with the likes of AC Milan, Napoli, and soon-to-be Juventus breathing down their necks.
We simply cannot see how Inter will be beaten on home soil against this subpar Sassuolo team. Many of their players are too strong as individuals and cannot seem to systematically gel. The previous five games between Inter and Sassuolo saw over 2.5 goals scored and two of those five seen over 6.5 and 5.5 goals cash.
Although we don’t expect as many goals this time around, we still see a very real possibility of four goals in this match. Inter Milan 3-1 / 3-2 is along the lines we are thinking. In addition to this Sassuolo’s road games in the league, this season has seen the most amount of games go over the 2.5 total with an 11-2 record.
We also like the addition of over 2.5 match cards to bring it up to -110 if you can add in that market, the last three games between these teams produced an average of 5 cards per game.
Soccer Pick: Inter Milan win + over 2.5 goals (-135) with the best online sportsbooks
