The current EPL titleholders remain in the first place of the table as head towards 2022 but keeping that position will crucially rely on taking three points from fixtures versus the likes of Leeds United.
Returning from Wolverhampton with all three points wasn't an utterly domineering weekend result by any means, but the only numbers that hold significance are those important winning 3-point collections. And Pep Guardiola's team has now won eight of their previous meetings in all competitions.
Fortunes for Marcelo Bielsa and his Leeds squad are in desperate need, as the Whites are 15th in the table and a mere five points away from the relegation zone. To be fair, an early-season goal drought has been turned around with five goals netted from their previous three games, but finding and holding onto a game-winning formula has evaded the Northern club.
Back-to-back fixtures facing the EPL's 1st and 3rd placed teams are most likely going to result in consecutive losses. Despite holding their own for large portions of the Chelsea meeting, Leeds was outclassed by the stronger squad, and I can't envision anything different when traveling to the Etihad on Tuesday.
With both teams scoring in five of Manchester City's previous six meetings and Leeds United rarely missing the net recently, I do expect Leeds will snatch a consolation goal.

Manchester United will be hunting for three points in their travels to Brentford on Tuesday with a guaranteed fourth-placed position in the Premier League table laying in wait.
Albeit a less than desirable performance versus Norwich this past Saturday, United's 75th-minute penalty saw the Red Devils continue a winning EPL streak since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick. The newly appointed manager has now delivered consecutive 1-0 wins since taking the first teme reigns, showing a newfound defensive structure that's assisted his team with two clean sheets – which was unfamiliar territory before his arrival.
However, Rangnick will be displeased with United's performance at Carrow Road. A similar display of lackluster football could undoubtedly lead to a point-dropping fixture when faced with an energetic Brentford squad.
Nine points clear of the relegation zone in 10th place, Brentford has begun their arrival to top-flight football with a positive start. They welcome United following a comeback victory over Watford, where a 1-0 losing game was capsized by an 84th and 96th minute set of goals.
Brentford has rarely allowed teams to produce a boring game, and I have no doubt they'll be looking to penetrate the United back four with all their might. With that said, we're looking at close to even money on a United victory – a genuinely unmissable set of odds at top sportsbooks.
Rangnick has evidently refocused United's positional failures at the back, with a helping hand from David de Gea. And I'll show faith in this stance with such desirable odds on the 20-time EPL champions taking on a Championship team from the last term.
