The Atlanta Braves will look to win a road series over the Phillies in the second game of the three-game series. With the Braves taking on a lefty, it’s likely that Atlanta finds a way to get the job done.

Let’s see what the MLB odds tell us at the top sportsbooks!

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Wednesday, June 29, 2022 – 07:05 PM EDT at Citizens Bank Park

Braves vs. Phillies Series Recap

The Atlanta Braves knocked off the Phillies, 5-3 in yesterday’s series opener. The Braves are currently moving closer and closer to first place in the NL East standings after the Mets lost another game to the Astros last night.

It’s been quite the month for the Braves as they’ve rallied back in a big way to get back into contention.

Meanwhile, the Phillies are still within striking distance too and will look to hold their ground while Bryce Harper recovers from an injury.

Can the Phillies tie the series up at once? Here are our betting picks and predictions for tonight’s game between the Phillies and Braves.

Who Is Pitching for the Phillies Today?

The Phillies will pitch Ranger Suarez for tonight’s game.

Who Is Pitching for the Braves Today?

Meanwhile, Kyle Wright will take the hill for the Braves.

Phillies Lineup Analysis

The Phillies won’t have Bryce Harper in their lineup for a long period of time. That’s going to hurt this Phillies lineup.

Philadelphia is hitting a .164 ISO with a wOBA of .293 in the last 30 days.

This Phillies projected lineup has hit just 17.6% of line drives against righties along with over 48% of ground balls. That’s not going to help this team win ball games.

Braves Lineup Analysis

Meanwhile, the Braves have been electric offensively, hitting a .235 ISO and wOBA of .373 against lefties in the last 30 days.

The Braves have also knocked 24.2% of line drives against lefties with their projected lineup against lefties in the last 30 days.

Five batters in the Braves lineup are hitting a .250 ISO or greater against lefties in the last 30 days.

Braves vs. Phillies: Game Prediction

Ranger Suarez hasn’t been bad this year. He’s limited power along with line drives and hard contact. But it seems like no matter who the Braves face, as long as it’s a lefty, the Braves will have success.

Atlanta has a BABIP of .342 against lefties in the last 30 days with their projected lineup and that’s due to a high line drive rate and a low strikeout rate of 20.5%.

Kyle Wright Analysis

On the other hand, Kyle Wright has been electric for the Braves. He’s been unlucky as of late but is still earning a high amount of grounders.

He’ll take on a Phillies lineup that has seven batters hitting ground balls at least 44.4% of the time against righties.

Wright should be able to put together a very good performance. And if he does that, the Braves should be able to score enough runs to win by multiple runs on the road.

MLB Pick for Today

It pains me as a Mets fan to take the Braves, but I’m taking the Braves against Suarez here. Atlanta has destroyed left-handed pitching all season long and will continue to have success against Suarez tonight.

On top of that, I’m confident in Kyle Wright and what he brings to the table. He’s getting plenty of ground balls and has limited walks, which is something he never did in years prior.

So let’s take the Braves to win by multiple runs and get some plus money action going. I’ll take the Braves for my  MLB pick of the day, on the runline at -1.5.
