Now that it’s the first day of July, we are officially in the dog days of summer in MLB as guys are getting a bit worn out as they look ahead to some time off during the All-Star break.
Here are today’s player props with MLB odds from BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review), one of BMR’s top-rated sportsbooks.

It’s Gerrit Cole Day! (Also Bobby Bonilla Day, but that’s another story). MLB bettors do circle the days that the Yankees’ Cole starters but for very different reasons. Some hammer the Yankees even at a big price – New York is -210 for this game at the best sportsbooks and betting sites – because Cole can be so dominant. Others, though, will play the big underdog against Cole as there are times he will blow up.
When Cleveland visited Yankee Stadium on April 24, Cole threw 6.2 shutout innings with 9 strikeouts, earning his first victory of the season.
I do like the Yankees/Cole to win this game simply as they are better but also it doesn’t hurt that Cleveland’s best reliever, closer Emmanuel Clase, will surely not be available after pitching the past three games.
MLB Prop Pick: Cole Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-148) at BetOnline

The Guardians might rest a regular or two on Friday as they have had a hugely busy week in completing a five-game series vs. the Twins on Thursday. Their batters may be tired.
While almost no Cleveland players have good splits off Cole, one does: All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez.
He’s 5-for-14 with 2 homers and a triple off Cole. Hey, someone has to get a hit tonight (most likely).
MLB Prop Pick: Ramirez Over 0.5 Hits (-190) at BetOnline
Friday, July 01, 2022 - 08:10 PM EDT at Coors Field
Series opener between NL West rivals. The Rockies are in a stretch of 17 straight games vs. NL West opponents, just took two of three at home vs. the Dodgers, and are 10-4 against the West over their last 14.
So, yeah, I like Colorado on the moneyline tonight. Part of the reason is that Arizona’s Merrill Kelly has an 8.15 ERA in three career starts at Coors Field.
Kelly started this season in dominant fashion but has been roughed up in two of his past three and those were at home. His road ERA this year is 4.06 compared to 3.40 in the desert.
MLB Prop Pick: Kelly Under 16.5 Outs Recorded (+100) at BetOnline
Colorado outfielder Charlie Blackmon enters with 6 hits in his past three games, and since his big-league debut in 2011, Blackmon’s 26 four-plus hit games are third in the majors behind Miguel Cabrera (33) and Jose Altuve (27).
Blackmon’s 18 four-hit games at Coors Field are the most by any active player at any venue. He has hit safely in nine straight home games, putting up a .450 (18-for-40) average with 7 extra-base hits and a 1.276 OPS during that span, and he is 6-for-15 with a double and two RBIs career off Kelly.
MLB Prop Pick: Blackmon With at Least 2 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-228) at BetOnline
Kris Bryant has largely been a free-agent bust for the Rockies so far – can you believe the former NL MVP doesn’t have a homer yet (granted, he has spent a fair amount of time on the injured list)? We say that ends tonight.
He is 7-for-16 with 3 doubles and a triple off Kelly. He hasn’t gone yard but clearly hits the ball well against the right-hander.
MLB Prop Pick: Bryant Over 0.5 Home Runs (+330) at BetOnline
Out of fairness and because I expect a high-scoring game in Denver, let’s do a hitting prop on Arizona first baseman Christian Walker.
He’s only hitting .200 but has 19 homers and is a bit due to having gone five straight games without one. Walker is 10-for-21 (.476) with 4 doubles and 2 homers career against Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela.
MLB Prop Pick: Walker Over 1.5 Total Bases (-136) at BetOnline
