The 2026 MLB season is fast approaching, so it’s the perfect time to take a look at AL MVP betting odds.

Unlike the National League, where Shohei Ohtani is the overwhelming favorite, the American League is more of a wide-open race. So, without further ado, let’s get right into the AL MVP betting odds.

AL MVP Betting Odds

Here are the updated AL MVP betting odds, courtesy of BetOnline, as of February 20th at 12 PM ET.

  • Aaron Judge, New York Yankees (+250)
  • Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals (+400)
  • Cal Raleigh, Seattle Mariners (+1000)
  • Julio Rodriguez, Seattle Mariners (+1200)
  • Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians (+1200)
  • Nick Kurtz, Athletics (+1400)
  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Toronto Blue Jays (+1400)
  • Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros (+1400)
  • Pete Alonso, Baltimore Orioles (+1400)
  • Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles (+1600)

The rest of the options are priced at (+1700) odds or longer.

Aaron Judge has won the last two AL MVPs, so it’s no surprise to see him as the odds-on favorite. But there’s some value that we can capitalize on here.

AL MVP Best Bets

Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas Royals (+400)

Bobby Witt Jr. has established himself as one of the best players in baseball. The Royals shortstop has put up a 8.0 WAR and 10.5 WAR in the last two seasons, which is on par with the upper echelon of the league, including Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani.

The Royals have moved their fences in at Kauffman Stadium this year, which could turn doubles into home runs. That puts Witt in a good position to put up even better numbers than usual this year.

The Royals don’t have a roster that’s as stacked as the Yankees, so if they can exceed expectations and win the AL Central, Witt Jr. will have a chance to win this award. At (+400), the price is a bit chalky, but I view it as a better value than paying up for Judge at (+250).

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Toronto Blue Jays (+1400)

We saw what Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is capable of during that season’s run to the World Series, where he carried the Blue Jays throughout the playoffs. There’s a legit chance that he can do that during the regular season, putting him in play for the AL MVP.

We’ve seen Vladdy put up gaudy numbers in the past. Just think back to 2021, when he hit 48 homers with a .311 batting average.

If the Blue Jays can win the AL East again and Vladdy can put up 40+ homers with a .300+ BA, there’s a chance that he can take home this award. At (+1400) odds, this looks like one of the better values on the board.

Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles (+1600)

Gunnar Henderson is only one year removed from a season where he put up 37 home runs, 21 stolen bases, and 7.9 WAR. Last season, Henderson’s production was down because he got off to a slow start due to injury.

Now fully healthy and surrounded by a stacked supporting cast, Henderson could recapture his 2024 form. If the Orioles are able to win the AL East with Henderson carrying the offensive load, there’s a chance that he can win this award.

I love the value at (+1600) odds because we’re targeting a 25-year-old who has already showed that he can dominate this league.

It’s Time to Get Moving

The 2026 season is right around the corner, which makes now the ideal time to break down the latest AL MVP odds and identify where the betting value lies.

Unlike the National League, where Shohei Ohtani is the clear frontrunner, the American League race feels far more wide open. That creates opportunity — and as always, timing is everything in sports betting.
