Danielle Collins is off to a great start for the 2022 season by making the finals in the Australian Open. Although she fell to the world's number one Ash Barty, Collins' impressive performance in the Australian Open has her fans excited that this could be her break-out year.
Her strong performance in Australia moved her up to number 11 in the world. A good performance here could move her into the top 10.

Marketa Vondrousova has fallen in the rankings and was forced to play qualifying in this tournament, the first time she has had to do so since 2018. Vondrousova was not particularly dominating in the qualifying rounds and needed three sets in two of the three qualifying matches.
Once poised to take over the tennis world, she has dropped in the rankings during the past year. Vondrousova is hoping to have strong performances in tournaments such as these to reclaim her ranking and have to avoid qualifying in WTA major tournaments.
Marketa Vondrousova did beat Danielle Collins in their one previous meeting. The two played in Chicago in October 2021. The match had a wild scoreline of 6-7, 6-0, 7-6. This is a scoreline emblematic of the wildly inconsistent nature of the WTA.
I like Danielle Collins to continue her hot streak and beat the slumping Marketa Vondrousova. Vondrousova is a wonderful talent but she's not playing her best tennis right now.
The American is definitely making the most of her abilities and I expect her torrid run to continue. Vondrousova has a very strong forehand and Danielle Collins has a very strong backhand.
I expect Collins to be able to dictate play, use the backhand to her advantage, and keep herself out of forehand to forehand rallies. The first bet for our WTA Dubai is Danielle Collins -2.5 games.

Garbine Muguruza is the defending champion here in Dubai. Last season she beat Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elise Mertens, and Barbara Krejcikova in order to win the title.
She begins her title defense knowing that she needs a modicum of success here to hold on to her world number seven ranking. Garbine Muguruza has not played since losing 6-3, 6-3 in the second round to Alize Cornet in the Australian Open.
Katerina Siniakova is a very inconsistent player. When Siniakova is on, she shows all the talent to be a top-10 player. There are also certain times, however, when Siniakova will fail to even beat players that are in the ITF tour.
Wagering on a Siniakova match can be dangerous. However, I do believe we can find a winning angle here.
With Katerina Siniakova having to play qualifying, she is very familiar with the court surfaces and conditions here in Dubai. Yes, Garbine Muguruza is the defending champion, but I think that Katerina Siniakova comes into the match in much better form.
At heavy underdog WTA odds, there is quite the lucrative payout to take Siniakova.
Betting the WTA isn't for the faint of heart, and sometimes we need to make leaps of faith like this today. Our second bet for WTA Dubai is Katerina Siniakova ML.
WTA Pick: Katerina Siniakova ML (+225) at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)

Aryna Sabalenka is definitely struggling to start the season. Sabalenka cannot figure out what to do with her serve. In just six matches last month, Sabalenka had an astounding 95 double faults. Over her last eight matches, she is averaging 16.3 double-faults per match.
Due to her strong groundstrokes and powerful first serve (when it lands), Sabalenka was able to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open. However, it is safe to say she is not anywhere near her best form as of right now.
Marta Kostyuk is a young player with a lot of potential. Kostyuk is a powerful player who can hit the ball with a blistering pace off of both sides. Kostyuk still needs to learn how to compete against the best of the WTA, however. She is 1-10 against top-20 players.
Once again we're going to take the underdog grabbing the lucrative WTA odds. At +175, Kostyuk can turn her success around against top 20 players, especially Sabalenka, who is nowhere near her top-20 form.
Kostyuk has the power to trade winners with Sabalenka and will not be bothered by her blistering pace. If Kostyuk can tap into a little bit of a defensive mindset and force errors from Sabalenka, she will definitely be able to get the win.
Our last play for WTA Dubai will be Marta Kostyuk ML.
WTA Pick: Marta Kostyuk ML (+175) at BetOnline
