Let’s take a look at the odds to find another winning tennis pick for today.
Tuesday, March 15, 2022 – 02:00 PM EDT at Stadium 3
Botic Van De Zandschulp is a 26-year-old player from the Netherlands who is finally breaking out in his career. After a strong 2021 season, he has risen to number 47 in the ATP rankings. He is now the highest-ranked Dutch player in the world. Van De Zandschulp is 25-16 on the ATP Tour level. He also made the third round in the Australian Open this season, following up a quarterfinal appearance at the US Open last year.
He was the third qualifier in US Open history to reach the quarterfinals of the event. He lost to the eventual champion, Daniil Medvedev. He also fell victim to the Russian at the Australian Open this season.
Van De Zandschulp, which means "sandshell" in Dutch, labored on the Challenger tour for years before finally reaching the ATP level. The Dutch turned Pro in 2015 and has played in 39 Challenger tournaments. Van De Zandschulp had to qualify for each of the Grand Slam tournaments last season but was able to play his way into the main draw in each event. With his ranking on the rise, he will no longer have to qualify this season.

Botic Van De Zandschulp has a loose, fluid forehand that is his best weapon. He does not have the fastest serve on tour, but he places his serve well to create angles for his second shot. Van De Zandschulp can excel at the power tennis game, even though he is not an exceptionally big player, at 6 ft 3.
While he does prefer the power style, he is able to hit drop shots and vary the pace. He will need to display all of these qualities in order to get a win today.
The Dutch defeated number 9 in the world, Felix Auger-Aliassime in his last match. Van De Zandschulp prevailed 7-6, 6-7, 6-3. He was incredibly clutch in the match, saving 80% of break points (8-10). He won 74% of his first serve points and 56% of his second serve points en route to the victory against the Canadian.
Miomir Kecmanovic has had two 3-set victories to get to this match today. In the first round, Kecmanovic was able to overcome Liam Broady 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Broady played one of his best matches of the season against Kecmanovic. It was a quality win for the Serbian player. He followed that up with a win over the number 24 in the world, Marin Cilic.
Cilic is a former Grand Slam champion so this win is definitely impressive. Kecmanovic failed to hit an ace, and Cilic hit 13 aces, but Kecmanovic was still able to get the victory. It was another close affair with Kecmanovic prevailing 6-7, 6-3, 7-6. Kecmanovic will hope to keep his strong streak going against a tough opponent today.

The Serbian had his best professional result at this year’s Australian Open. Kecmanovic showed his big serve and won 3 matches, 2 of which he was an underdog by ATP odds. Kecmanovic showed he was not afraid of the bright lights, and his performance represented the next step in his development, the ability to play his best when it matters most.
Kecmanovic has one title in his career, the 2020 Austrian Open. Kecmanovic is 66-67 during his career and has won close to 3 million dollars in prize money. Kecmanovic is only 22 years old so he has time to keep improving before he hits his prime. He is currently ranked 61 in the world. His career-high ranking is number 38. Kecmanovic has the potential to be a top 20 player if he continues to develop his skillset and fine-tune his conditioning.
I like Botic Van De Zandschulp to get the victory here. He is very tough mentally and has had a better form so far this tournament. Kecmanovic is a solid player, but I think that he will struggle with Van De Zandschulp’s strong weapons, especially his powerful forehand.
If he is able to overcome the up-and-coming Serbian star, it will be a great accomplishment for the Dutch which, in turn, will continue to improve his ranking. Our bet for today in Indian Wells is Botic Van De Zandschulp -1.5 games.
