GIGSE '08 Dates and Venue Announced

ST. CHARLES, Mo., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The 10th Annual Global I-Gaming Summit and Expo (GIGSE) will be held June 3-5, 2008 at the Palais de Congres in Montreal. The theme for 2008 will be "Position Yourself". Sue Schneider of Clarion Gaming (formerly River City Group) explained, "The regulatory environment around the world is becoming clearer every day. We're finding so many new companies and governments around the world that realize this industry is here to stay and are beginning to explore how they will integrate interactive gaming products into their offerings."

While, historically, the industry has been dealt its share of success and setback, there's little argument that it's here to stay, and its future is bright. "People know the rules and are finding creative and lucrative ways to work within them," Schneider added.

The industry's most established international event continues to draw attendees from over 45 countries, attracting both online and terrestrial gaming companies from casino, sports betting, racing and lottery operations on a number of continents who are exploring their options.

The sharp line formerly dividing the terrestrial and internet sectors continues to soften, which the programming being planned for this year's event reflects.

The 2008 conference will place emphasis on cultivating cross-sector solutions as well as partnership development, investment opportunities and technology-related challenges. With particular emphasis on legalized gambling, the program will also examine forward-looking opportunities in jurisdictions like the United States and South Africa, where regulatory efforts are currently underway. Finally, there will be continued attention toward advanced topics and issues that are pertinent to i-gaming veterans.

With the industry changing so dramatically in the past year, GIGSE is retooling like the many companies around the world that it serves. The plans for 2008 include an increased emphasis on the conference component and a new-look expo hall designed to enhance networking opportunities. The presentation stage in the exhibition will offer continuous programming, including short solution spotlights, two-minute deal-making presentations and a variety of other dynamic programming additions.
