An Israeli Court has ruled that foreign gambling sites may not hide behind the fact that they are operating legally in other countries. "A foreign company operating an online gambling site is breaking the law if it does not block access to Israelis," reported a local newspaper.
"In the era of the Internet, the original location of content is marginal and negligible. The center of gravity, especially the territorial legal jurisdiction, must switch to the end point, in other words, the individual computer," said the Israeli judge who issued the precedent-setting ruling. In other news, the European Betting Association sent a letter to the French Prime Minister asking to open a discussion on the future of online gambling in France. |
