30-05-2007 eCOGRA announces increase in disputes settled in favour of the players

The online casino and poker regulator revealed that 54 per cent of disputes in the period between January and April 2007 was settled in favour of the players. eCOGRA's Fair Gaming Advocate Tex Rees said the increase suggests a better 'quality' of complaint and a decline in the number of irrelevant or rant complaints that contain insufficient information to be usefully considered.

In other news, the Interactive Gaming Council appointed John Fitzgerald as its new Chief Executive. Fitzgerald, who previously held a position at CryptoLogic, said he wants to promote international regulation of the industry and show the people how much the gaming business community is already doing to create a safe environment for its customers.
