28-11-2007 Ladbrokes.it starts operating, Betshop Italia opens its first 59 betting shops

Mattia Nicelli, Head of Ladbrokes Italy, told Reuters that the company started taking online bets and has around 800 customers betting on the site. Ladbrokes also plans to spend 100 million euros to open 62 betting shops and 51 betting kiosks in time for the Euro 2008 finals.

Henry Birch, Chief Executive of Leisure & Gaming, owner of the Betshop group, said 59 betting shops have been opened, with 58 more following in the coming months to complement the existing chain of over 800 remote betting points.
