25-08-2007 Malta to process 30 new applications for remote gambling licenses

Commenting on the news that William Hill and Intercasino are transferring their online casinos operations to Malta, the Chairman of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority told Di-ve News the LGA is currently processing around 30 applications from foreign gambling companies.

Mario Galea, CEO of the LGA, told The Times: "Malta is becoming the natural hub of online gaming."

Malta has granted licenses to 84 internet gambling operators and issued letter of intent to 76 others.
