25-04-2007 Barney Frank to introduce a bill to lift the US ban on internet gambling

Reuters reported that the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee said he will introduce the legislation as soon as Thursday.

The news come just few days after long time gambling opponent Senator John Kyl tried to force a commitment from US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to urge the drafting of UIGEA regulations, including a requirement for financial institutions to provide the Treasury with a list of bank accounts known to be operated by online gambling sites.
