24-04-2006 Alderney awarded six more licenses in 2005

During 2005, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission has issued six new licenses to online betting companies, including IGT's WagerWorks and Sportswinbet, and three Certificates of Prior Approval to software providers Chartwell Technology, Orbis Technology and Playtech.

The total number of licensees in this small island, located just 8 miles off the coast of France and with a population of 2500, now stands at 18 with more in the pipeline.
