As reported by Bloomberg, the five-match rubber between the sport's highest-ranked teams, England and Australia, has captivated an unprecedented interest from bettors.
England is seeking a first Ashes win over its oldest rival since 1987. "There will be enormous gambling action right up to the final wicket of the final match," said a spokesman for William Hill. If the outcome of the series remains undecided until the final match, the bookmaker said it expects to take another 10 million pounds in bets. |
