23-02-2008 AGA spent $1.7m in 2007 to lobby the US Government in support of an internet gambling study

The American Gaming Association represents the land-based casino industry and lists among its members Harrah's and MGM Mirage.

In related news, the National Basketball Association spent $330,000 to lobby to preserve the US ban on internet gambling.

Meanwhile, the Poker Players Alliance website reports that the Lee Rousso's case against the online poker ban in the state of Washington will be discussed on April 25. Rousso accused the state of Washington to have imposed the ban to protect its own gambling industry in clear violation of the US Constitution.
