22-08-2007 Betsson ends the year's weakest quarter with a bang |

Despite the seasonal decline and difficulties in Turkey, which adopted legislation against internet gaming, the Swedish online betting and gaming operator increased its second quarter revenues by 147 per cent to to SEK 155.7 million, with an operating margin of 30.3 per cent.
The number of active customers increased by 57 per cent to over 94,000 compared to the same period last year, but declined by 25 percent compared to Q1 2007, suffering from a lack of free offers during what has historically been Betsson’s weakest period. The sportsbook and the betting exchange exchange suffered the most with a 40 per cent decrease in active customers to 41,000.
Betsson, which recently launched French, Greek, Italian and Spanish language sites, said its goal is to grow both organically and through acquisitions in these new markets. The company aims to continue to grow faster than the market, maintaining an operating margin of at least 30 per cent.
