While Gambling911 reports that Costa Rica filed a complaint for damages, India and Japan have joined the European Union in submitting requests to the WTO for the Unites States to open up other areas as compensation for the US ban on foreign gambling websites.

In other news, tax advisor PricewaterhouseCoopers estimates global gambling revenue to hit $144 billion in 2011 after growing at an annually compounded rate of 7.2 per cent a year. According to the report released today, the regulations banning the transfer of funds between gambling sites and US residents will have an adverse affect on UK-based online operators, while a mix of sports betting restrictions and new licenses will hurt sports betting in Europe.
