20-10-2007 Absolute Poker says breach of its security systems has been resolved

Absolute Poker identified an internal security breach that compromised its systems leading the online poker community to call for cheating allegations for almost a month before the Kahnawake Gaming Commission announced an investigation into the Mohawk-owned online poker site.

"Players who were affected by this unfortunately situation will be paid in full," Absolute Poker told Gambling911.com.

This was not the right time for an online poker scandal as more than 100 amateur and professional poker players alike representing over 800,000 members of the Poker Players Alliance are expected to meet next week with congressional members of the House Judiciary and Financial Services Committees to express their support for the IGREA and the Skill Game Protection Act.

In related news, the Internal Revenue Service said that effective March 2008, casinos and other sponsors of poker tournaments will be required to file paperworks every time a player wins $5,000 or more.
