15-10-2005 Malta to amend the original Remote Gaming Regulations published in 2004

The Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority has published a draft of the proposed amendments to update its regulations.

Since 2004, when the Remote Gaming Regulations were first published, the industry has seen a number of changes, especially in the poker and skill games markets.

The aim of the proposed update is to reflect the needs of the remote betting industry and stay in line with current practices.

"We have always assured our licensees that the Maltese regulatory regime on remote gaming will reflect the exigencies of the industry. The update maps out our response to the ever-changing landscape of the remote gaming business," said Mario Galea, Chief Executive of Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority.

All interested parties can post their suggestions and views on the Malta Remote Gaming Council Forum by not later than November 16.
