The state-owned gambling monopoly is about to be given an internet license for a two-year trial. When in 2005 the Dutch Government announced it would have granted Holland Casino exclusive rights to operate internet games of chance, the European Commission suggested that the proposed Dutch internet gaming monopoly was disproportionate.
