While the US Department of Justice asked for an extension in the lawsuit filed by iMEGA to challenge the UIGE Act and the National Football League received the support of the Christian right in voicing its strong opposition to legalizing online gambling, USA Today reports NETeller is considering re-entering the US market in non-gaming areas.
The company, which was the de facto payment provider for the online gambling industry in the US market, has been recently restored to trading on the London Stock Exchange following the conlusion of the US investigation. NETeller admitted its wrongdoing and agreed to return $136 million, including the $60 million seized by the United States Attorney's Office.
In other news, former NBA referee Tim Donaghy turned himself in to federal authorities and pleaded guilty to betting on games in which he officiated.
