14-07-2007 Eurobet to open 145 betting shops in Italy

The Gibraltar-based bookmaker, which has recently been named in the probe into illegal gambling of four Italian soccer players, confirmed its plans to open 145 betting shops and 258 betting points in Italy.

Raffaella Micuccio, Marketing Manager of Eurobet Italia, told Agicoscommesse that Eurobet decided to invest in Italy because the Italian gambling market guarantees a turnover commensurate to expectations.

In separate news, Eurobet.com announced the closing of accounts from a number of countries including Australia, Japan and Singapore to concentrate its efforts to better serve the European market.
