The Harlem-born Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee said after a meeting with Antigua's representatives that the United States are wrong in trying to withdraw gambling from their WTO commitments.
Rangel also commented on Barney Frank’s proposed online gambling legislation saying that it does very little to level the field as requested by the WTO and promised to speak with officials of the United States Trade Representative before the end of the month, when the WTO is expected to rule on Antigua's $3.4 compensation claim.
"Your great nation and ours will have to negotiate those differences in terms of equity and fairness," Rangel told the Antigua Sun.
