12-02-2008 French court rules against Unibet and William Hill in Juventus trademark case

While iGaming News reports that two French MPs, who have investigated internet gambling in 12 liberalized jurisdictions, are to report back that prohibition of internet gambling is an "impossible task", a Paris court rules against Unibet and William Hill, who were found guilty of counterfeiting in the Juventues trademark case.

The ruling stated that the two online bookmakers used the trademark Juventus in comments and slogans on their websites to promote their betting activities by exploiting the fame of the popular Italian soccer team.
