While the Italian betting operator Snai recently denied to have received any takeover offer, a spokesperson for Ladbrokes said that although the company will be opening 200 betting shops in Italy before 2008 under the Ladbrokes label, the bookmaker is always looking at new acquisitions.
"We would never say never and I must stress that we continue to buy and acquire other businesses in Italy. This is an ongoing process as we move Ladbrokes into the Italian market," said Ladbrokes spokesperson Ciaran O'Brien.
In other news, Ladbrokes hired advertising agency M & C Saatchi for a high-profile advertising campaign on the UK market.
