11-05-2006 Four sportsbooks to offer real-time "nano-event" on any aspect of sporting events

LiveHive Systems has announced that Carib Sports, Cascade Sportsbook, Major Betting and Bet4Aces will be introducing the LiveHive NANOGAMING Solution to their customers prior to the 2006 NFL season.

The LiveHive NANOGAMING Solution is a next generation real-time event wagering system that creates betting opportunities based on the action taking place during live events. As customers watch events live or on TV, the online sportsbooks present them with NANOGAMING-generated wagering opportunities, and the customers place their bets via the online sportsbooks. Betting opportunities could include asking customers to speculate on the play call (e.g. "Will the next play be a run or pass?"), play result (e.g. "Will they make this field goal?") or who will be involved (e.g. "Which player will receive the next pass?").

"The LiveHive NANOGAMING Solution is the first in-game betting product that we have felt comfortable offering to our customers," said William J. Caesar, consultant for Carib Sports. "We wanted a solution that would provide a rich user experience to our customers: complete integration with our existing systems so no downloads are required, and wagering opportunities and odds presented quickly so our customers have plenty of time to place their bets. Carib has been in the bookmaking business since 1993 and we have a reputation to uphold with our loyal, and growing, customer base."

"At Cascade, we've achieved success by listening to customers, being innovative and accommodating," said Lenny Raymond, General Manager for Cascade Sportsbook. "NANOGAMING is allowing us to offer even more betting choices to our customers without straining our operations. Customers can now wager on any aspect of a game as the game is being played. Odds are instantly calculated in real-time and lines are rebalanced automatically to minimize our overall risk."

"I expect NANOGAMING to be the next big wave in sports wagering," said Russ Hawkins, Chief Executive of MajorWager.com. "LiveHive Systems took the time to listen to online sportsbooks and developed a system that addresses the limitations of historical in-game betting products."

Implementations for the upcoming 2006/2007 season include the National Football League (American football) and English Premier League (soccer), with more sports such as hockey, baseball, basketball and tennis, plus a selection of reality-TV shows, already scheduled into the broadcast calendar.

LiveHive will give interactive demonstrations of its NANOGAMING Solution at GIGSE, the Global Interactive Gaming Summit & Expo, from May 16 to May 18 at the Palais des congres in Montreal, Canada.

Other firms which will showcase their products at GIGSE include BetXTech, Gextech and Iovation.

BetXTech will be showcasing its XC-EPOS technology in association with Betfair. The till-based solution allows operators to offer competitive odds which are automatically converted from Betfair odds with a built-in, adjustable profit margin enabling no-risk betting profit without the financial risks associated with traditional sportsbooks.

Gextech will demonstrate Smart-Stitch, the technology behind Gextech's Fantastic League, a fixed odds soccer-themed betting game for multiple platforms including interactive TV, internet, mobile and terminal delivery. The Smart-Stitch technology links a Random Number Generator with animated sequences providing unlimited scope for Fantastic League to breed a whole host of virtual team sports, races and competitions.

Iovation will show the new version of its anti-fraud and online authentication software developed specifically for the mobile gambling industry. Mobile gambling, one of internet gaming's hottest trends, is used by people on the move for playing online poker and other casino games. The new Iovation's platform includes innovative features such as an enhanced pattern-matching engine, increased transaction capacity, geolocation services and new reporting features.
