10-07-2007 Lack of a credit card system doesn't stop online gambling in Burma

While in the Philippines, the casino gambling monopoly PAGCOR is opposing the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone claiming it doesn't have the authority to issue licenses to online gambling sites, Mansion88, an online sportsbook with a First Cagayan license, has quickly become one of the most popular gambling sites among Burmese gamblers.

According to The Irrawaddy, online gambling in Burma is a very big business despite heavy penalties for illegal gambling and the lack of a credit card system which forces online bookmakers to operate in cash through local agents.
