The Guardian indicated private equity firm Apax Partners as the possible suitor for Ladbrokes, whose shares price closed the day up 14p to 427.5p. Apax Partners together with Permira, Carlyle and BC Partners are also among the canditates to acquire the 49.9% of Spanish gambling group Codere, partner of William Hill in a joint-venture targeting the Italian and Spanish sports betting markets.
