08-01-2007 New York Racing Association to develop an internet betting platform

NYRA has signed a deal with Sona Mobile Holdings to develop an internet betting site that will allow racing fans to access real-time track information and securely place bets on all races from Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga race courses. NYRA and Sona Mobile are also planning to expand the deal to add mobile betting using BlackBerrys and other wireless devices.

NYRA President Charles Hayward commented: "By providing NYRA customers with online wagering capabilities and real-time access to our content, NYRA will not only generate incremental revenues but also boost its brand recognition."
