02-11-2007 Betinternet looking to buy another sportsbook

The Isle of Man-based betting and pari-mutuel operator announced that it has continued to trade according to expectations during the first quarter of the new financial year, with good revenues achieved through the casino and fixed-odds games on the sportsbook platform, during a period when football content was reduced.

Betinternet also said that a strategic acquisition of a sportsbook operation remains an area of focus for the forthcoming year, but not to the detriment of the existing sportsbook business, which recently introduced Asian Handicap multiple bets and added Starting Price betting to its UK and Irish horseracing product.

The company also announced that it intends to change the name to Webis Holdings.
