01-05-2007 Betex senior staff in China investigated for Gambling and Illegal Operations

The Aim-listed gaming company, backed by serial entrepreneur Nigel Wray and run by Peter Greenhill, received an initial report from its Chinese lawyers saying that the detained individuals are being investigated over alleged involvement in the crimes of 'Gambling' and 'Illegal Operations'.

In separate news, Dynasty Gaming announced to have received product approval from the Government of China for its play-for-points online Mahjong software through its local operating partner, 95Joy. CEO Albert Barbusci said prepaid cards for use on the MJworldcup site will initially be distributed and sold in over 7,000 internet cafes.

Earlier last week, Dynasty Gaming announced an agreement with UK-based Evolution Gaming covering the distribution of Dynasty's Mahjong Mania software. Evolution Gaming is one of the industry's leading developers and value-added resellers of gaming software, targeting the Asia market in particular.
