PartyGaming confirms consolidation talks |
The online poker group said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange that it is continuing to hold discussions with a number of companies in the online gambling sector regarding potential consolidation opportunities.
Although PartyGaming refused to name the other companies, Austrian bookmaker Bwin is believed to be the most likely candidate as a merger of the two companies would create a multi-billion online gambling conglomerate. Other possible candidates are 888.com, Sportingbet and Unibet.
In separate news, PartyGaming founder Anurag Dikshit has decided to sell his remaining stake of around 10% for £ 105m to institutional investors.
