Italian Police freezes Bet1128 Italian assets over suspected Mafia links

Bet1128.it (formerly paradisebet.it) is a sister site of Bet1128.com, which until recently operated from the UK, where the Gambling Commission immediately suspended its license, but relocated in Malta earlier this summer.
While the Italian site is understood to have been used to launder money by their owners, the Parisi clan, at this time the UK and Malta operations remain under investigation, but just to be on the safe side of things it is probably better to avoid Bet1128.com for the time being.

UPDATE 15-01-2010: A representative of Bet1128.com, a bookmaker that always ignored our emails when we tried to contact them about players' complaints, contacted us asking to amend some incorrect information: "Bet1128.com is not owned by Paradisebet, but by CenturionBet Ltd. Paradisebet used to own www.paradisebet.it which could also be accessed through www.bet1128.it, however the ".com" is owned by CenturionBet, a company which is a separate entity from Paradisebet."
I wonder why they suddenly need to distance themselves from the paradisebet name? Could that be because the brand has been named in mafia- related investigations both in Italy and the UK?
