November 2009 rating reassessments and other short news

Astrabet.com (2.5-) is now redirecting to Astrabetcasino.com, a new Italian-only version.

Choice Odds suspended its activities in October to allow for product redevelopment and platform enhancement to be completed by mid 2010. If you are owed money contact cs@choiceodds.com quoting “account closure”. Choice Odds rating coverage suspended (2.5).

WinUnited re-launched as Uwin.com. In their message announcing the new site they state that Uwin stands for integrity, something WinUnited didn't have considering they closed their affiliate program without informing the partners and when asked for information they ignored all emails. UWin-WinUnited rating coverage suspended.
WinUnited is just the last of a long series of low-rated bookmakers that in 2009 closed their affiliate programs without even trying to inform their partners.
These include Astrabet, BetAtlas and 724 Sports (now BetHorizon.com), BetTrojan (back online after for a while they redirected traffic to sister site Top Cat Sports), Intrade (TradeSports did exactly the same thing few months before closing) and Skybook.
As always the question is: a bookmaker that steals from its partners would it steal from players if conditions arise?
UPDATE 16-02-2010: BetHorizon.com paid Bookmakers Review the affiliate balance BetAtlas still owed us when they moved players to Horizon Sports.
