Malaysian tycoon pulls the plug on Ascot Sports

09-05-2008: While representatives of the online sportsbook continue to claim the site is down for a scheduled maintenance, The Malaysian Insider said that owner Vincent Tan announced that Ascot Sports ceased operations with immediate effect.
The Isle of Man-licensed sportsbook made its debut in 2007 offering a relief plan to Pointbet victims in the form of a 1% cash back.
UPDATE 13-05-2008: The Isle of Man DTI said to be working closely with Ascot Sports to ensure all funds are returned to customers. While we continue to monitor the situation, the rating coverage of Ascot Sports is suspended.
