Description:
The Isle of Man Gambling Control Commissioners issue the Bookmaker`s Permit and Betting Office Licence, public or restricted, necessary for those who wish to operate any online sportsbetting operations from the Isle of Man. In 2001, the Isle of Man Government also introduced a dedicated online gambling legislation. On April 2005, the Isle of Man introduced a zero rate on taxable income for the e-gaming sector, while also offering governmental grants of up to 40% for gambling software developers looking to relocate to the island. The Gambling Control Commissioners require that player deposits should be segregated in some way and held in an independent banking institution ideally within the Isle of Man or in an acceptable/equivalent jurisdiction.
