Belize

Description:
Belize was one of the first countries to regulate online betting with the introduction in 1996 of the Computer Wagering Act. The act, revised in 2000, establishes that the Licensing Board is responsible for issuing licenses to providers of computer wagering services. The Minister of National Development, Investment and Culture, who already names 4 of the 6 members of the Licensing Board, has also the final say on appeals of flunked license's applicants. Here at Bookmakers Review, we do not think much of egambling jurisdictions that put most of the powers to grant a license in the hand of just one person.
